Mitigating impacts of climate change
The growing impact of climate change is driving demand for more resilient buildings and infrastructure. We have the capabilities to meet and deliver on the increasing demand for resilient construction and work actively with the development of climate-resilient solutions.
We apply scenario analysis to identify and address material risks and opportunities, including those created and exacerbated by climate change. We consider a wide range of risks and opportunities, from changes to policy and legal frameworks, to technological advancements, changing market demands and physical effects of a warming climate.
We have integrated climate risks into our risk management and project scrutiny processes, ensuring that projects mitigate potential physical risks. Adaptation measures to mitigate physical risks are designed and implemented on a project basis, taking into account the specifics of the risk to be mitigated, as well as the surrounding area. We implement new and innovative solutions that increase the resilience of our projects, providing added value to our customers and society. Solutions used in projects include ground-level floodproofing, elevation of technical infrastructure, and site paving that absorbs water.
