Skanska to build residential block in Gothenburg, Sweden, for about SEK 500 M
Skanska has signed an agreement with the City of Gothenburg to build a residential block with 249 apartments in Gothenburg, Sweden. The contract is worth about SEK 500 M, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Sweden in the third quarter of 2018.
The project, which will be built around an old factory, will comprise of apartments as well as retail areas and a pre-school. Work is already under way and is scheduled to be completed summer of 2021.
Skanska is one of the leading development and construction companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential- and commercial property projects in select home markets. The commercial development stream is also active in Denmark. Skanska offers services in public-private partnerships. Skanska had sales of about SEK 65 billion and more than 15,000 employees in its Nordic operations during 2017.
