Skanska landed the contract to construct a new pharmaceuticals plant for Astra in Södertälje, Sweden. The order is valued at SEK 350 million.
Construction of the 24,000 square meter plant begins immediately and is scheduled to be completed in December 2001. The project will employ about 150 persons.
"This is a major and qualified assignment involving very high quality demands," says Leif Larsson, District Manager, Building Division, Skanska Sweden.
Since 1992, Skanska has continuously carried out a number of assignments for Astra in Södertälje, including the Astra head office as well as laboratories and plants. Skanska has also been involved in construction for Astra Hassle in Gothenburg, Sweden.
