A five-story expansion and renovation of the existing four-story facility. The expansion includes two floors of medical/surgical and orthopedic beds, totaling 48 patient beds; two floors of shelled inpatient space; an additional 14 patient bed OB unit; and, associated support services including a food service area, a new central sterile and two new public canopied entrances.

A 10,170-SF free-standing power house and expanded parking has been added to the South Campus. A major component of this project is the multi-phased renovation and construction of four new operating rooms within the existing operating suite. The phased approach includes relocation of the current sterilization equipment to a temporary location in order to allow for the construction of the new operating rooms.

Skanska’s Multi-trade Prefabrication minimized the amount of noise, time, and disruption to the active hospital. The prefabrication process also resulted in a three-month savings on the overall project schedule when compared to conventional construction. Prefabrication was planned from the outset because of the client’s priority of speed to market. Prefabricated elements included corridor utility racks, toilet rooms, headwalls, vertical duct assemblies and unitized curtain wall.
