Peter Wallin to succeed Hans Biörck as CFO of Skanska
Peter Wallin has been appointed the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Vice President of the Skanska Group. He will succeed Hans Biörck following the presentation of the interim report for the first quarter, which will take place on May 5. Hans Biörck will turn 60 in 2011 and will assume the role as an advisor to Skanska’s Senior Executive Team.
Hans Biörck has been Skanska’s CFO since April 2001 and, prior to this, held similar positions at Autoliv and Esselte. With the interim report for the first quarter of 2011, he will complete and present his 100th interim report as CFO of a company listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
“Hans Biörck has done an exceptional job in developing Skanska’s financial governance and control and our reporting of the Group’s operations and financial accounts. He was also the driving force in the Senior Executive Team in key operative and strategic issues to create the Skanska of today,” says Johan Karlström, Skanska’s President and CEO.
Peter Wallin is 43 years old and was recruited as Skanska’s Senior Vice President Investor Relations in 2000 and worked as CFO for the Skanska Infrastructure Development business unit between 2003 and 2008. Since 2008, he has been CFO of Skanska Sweden. Before Peter Wallin joined Skanska, he worked as a financial analyst at Hagströmer & Qviberg and portfolio manager at Trygg-Hansa/SEB. He graduated with a degree in business administration from Uppsala University.
“Peter Wallin has extensive and broad experience of the financial sector and the construction and property markets. During his years at Skanska, he has demonstrated his skills in developing the control and reporting of the operation, and his ability to communicate effectively with the financial market,” says Johan Karlström.
Anders Lilja will be the new CFO of Skanska Sweden and will join the company from a position as Senior Vice President of Controlling in the Skanska Group. He has worked for Skanska since 1994 in a number of positions, including as Senior Vice President Investor Relations.
