Skanska secured a contract to repower one of the largest and most significant combined-cycle power stations owned by Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.
The East River Generating Station is a 43,000-square-foot facility that produces electricity and steam for homes and businesses throughout New York City.
Skanska performed all civil, structural, electrical and mechanical work to repower the facility.
The scope of work for this project included the installation of major equipment, including:
· two GE Frame 7FA gas turbines
· two Vogt-NEM, Inc. heat recovery steam generators
· three Atlas Copco gas compressors
· more than 100,000 linear feet of process pipe
