The University of Houston and Wharton County Junior College have joined forces to build a new academic building in Sugar Land, Texas on the U of H campus. The colleges will share 150,000-SF of classroom space, office space, labs and multi-purpose rooms. There is also additional space for a third party to run a bookstore.

Within the academic building, the nursing disciple utilizes 11,000-SF for hands on teaching. This area includes four instrument laboratories, two nursing skill facility rooms (hospital set-up), five assessment laboratories, research laboratories, storage as well as additional related support space.

The academic building contains eight other laboratories for chemistry, biology, forensics, general lab, A&P biology, microbiology and general biology laboratories.
